Basic Requirements for Evangelism

• Passion to god
• Compassion for people

Jesus was specific in sending His follower (v. 5-6)

He sent them out as evangelist (Proclaimer of the Good news)

• Thru Your Life (Experience & Example)
• Thru the Word of God (Bible)

He sent them out for specific reasons

• To engage the lost
• To lead the lost to faith in Christ

Jesus was specific about the message (v. 7-10)

Our message must build with Christ as the central theme

I Corinthians 2:2 “For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified”

Man and God become separated

Romans 3:23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”

God wants every person to be saved

• He makes His grace available to all
• It is not dependent on, or conditioned by, acts of merit.
• God made a way.

Our message must build with compassion for the lost (v. 8)

• Hell is real and lost people will really go to hell
• Hell is mentioned in the Bible more times than Heaven

Our message must come with the right motives (v. 9-10)

• Our reason must not be about money
• Our reason must not be about claiming numbers
• Our reason must be about the kingdom

Jesus was specific about the results (v. 11-16)

• Evangelism is a blessing to those who receive it’s message (v. 11-12)

• The Holy Spirit brings conviction
• God has final judgment
