Salvation 101
The basic requirements for evangelism
- Passion and Compassion
- Passion to God
- Compassion for people
The doctrine of salvation
The doctrine or teaching of salvation is called ‘soteriology’
The salvation process can be looked at as happening in 3 stages.
- What God does in our lives to bring us to the point of salvation.
- The actual salvation experience.
- The changed life as a result of the salvation experience
God made a perfect world
Genesis 1:30 “God saw all that He had made, and it was very good……”
Genesis 2:15-17 “The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”
The Fall of Humanity
Genesis 3 – Give accounts on the fall of humanity-
As a result of mans disobedience to God, man became separated from God/ Spiritually dead
Vs. 15 “And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.”
The verse truly is fascinating, providing the very first biblical glimpse of God’s plan of redemption, focusing ultimately upon the final thrusting of Satan into the eternal hell of fire (Rev. 20:10)
And as a result of Adam’s sin
Man became sinners
Romans 5:12 “Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned.”
Man and God become Separated
Romans 3:23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”
Romans 3:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Humanity is Trying to Reconcile with God

He makes His grace available to all
It is not dependent on, or conditioned by, acts of merit.
Titus 2:11 "Christ appeared to all men"
I Timothy 2:6; 4:10 "Christ died for all"
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world...whosoever will"
What about ‘Predestination’?
Romans 8:29 “For those He foreknew, He also predestined…..”
God wants every person to be saved
2 Peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”
As Promised is Genesis 3:15, God Provided a Way
God Made A Way

Jesus Christ is the only way
1 Corinthians 15:45 The Scriptures tell us, "The first man, Adam, became a living person." But the last Adam--that is, Christ--is a life-giving Spirit.
Acts 4:12 “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."
John 14:6 “Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
Acts 16 when the jailor asked Paul and Silas,
“What must I do to be saved?” they answered, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved–you and your household.”
They did and the Bible says that he and all his family were baptized at the same hour of the night.
The Challenge
Sharing the GOSPEL is never and will never be easy but our task and mandate is to share and it’s the HOLY SPIRIT is the one who will convict and open the heart of the soul.
