Activities across the month of August, all occurring on a Sunday
Day 1 — August 05 — Regular morning worship service at Derrimut Community Centre (DCC). Afterwards, invite nearby residents at the House of Faith (HOF) area for Day 2 event. Others to invite nearby residents at DCC area for Day 3 event.
Day 2 — August 12 — Regular morning worship service at DCC. Afternoon tea at the HOF.
Day 3 — August 19 — Regular morning worship service at DCC. Church Open Day afterwards – limited time sausage sizzle, activity corners or fun fair, ministry showcase video, onsite evangelism, etc.
Day 4 — August 26 — Anniversary worship service at DCC in the afternoon. Preparation/decoration in the morning. Any special presentations will commence right after the worship service.
Background and Upfront work of the activities
Advertising. The goal is to broadcast to everyone that “we are here” and “we have this happening”
- Create/distribute A5 or A6 size invitations for house-to-house distribution.
- Create/distribute A4 to A3 size posters and put up around the DCC building. If permitted and if we are ready to accommodate many people, put up posters at Derrimut Shopping Centre and Brimbank Shopping Centre?
- Create ministry showcase containing photos/videos of activities and ministries. Require photography, video editing, script writing, voiceover, and music background. 5~10 minutes of meaningful video may be sufficient. We will play it in a loop. Similar to a TV commercial.
- Billboard displaying Open Day and Anniversary Day event?
Afternoon Tea. Meet and talk to people.
- People to handle the afternoon tea.
- People to talk to visitors and/or do onsite evangelism.
Open Day. Idea…that after each visitor gets a sausage, go through the booths and watch the ministry showcase, then get a gift or welcome pack or a church brochure upon exit. Similar to guided tours.
- People to handle the sausage sizzle.
- People to handle any activity corners or booths.
- People to maintain security since we are opening DCC to the public during our time slot.
- People to witness people and/or do onsite evangelism.
- Intercessors to pray during the event. Preferably onsite but can be offsite (at home or other locations).
- Shirt with anniversary theme/logo
- Giveaways (Bibles, brochures, etc)
- Setup, cleanup, lockup
Anniversary Day
- Decoration of DCC.
- Photo corner (red carpet style) with backdrop of FCCC Logo and 15th anniversary theme. This will serve as our souvenir for the event. Let’s call our in-house or invite volunteer photographers outside.
- Kitchen people for food refreshments.
- Personalities on the worship program.
- Appreciation certificates for ministry holders and long time members.
- Presentation of ministries and groups.
- Setup, cleanup, lockup
