Passing Through Difficulties

Preacher:
Passage: Matthew 14:22-33

Problems may arise from biological, emotional or social factors in your life. However, if you look deeper to figure out what's causing the problem, you can fix the underlying systems and processes so that it goes away for good.

What the Bible said about this and why it's happening even to believer in Christ. Oceans and waves have many meaning and interpretation in life. It is the source of food, transportation, and cause of death to some.

Genesis 22:1-18

God tested Abraham to sacrifice his only son Isaac, and through his faith in God, Abraham obeyed God without hesitation, of course God was only testing him and did not allow Isaac to be the sacrificial instead God provided the lamb offering according to the Bible and God blessed him more because of this.

Matthew 14:22-33

The Lord Jesus tested his disciples from the verses in Matthew 14:22-33 through the strong wind and heavy waves they encountered.

Exodus 20:20

When Israelites trembled in fear of lightning and thunder, Moses answered them, ““Don’t be afraid,” “for God has come in this way to test you, and so that your fear of him will keep you from sinning!”

When you call on God, He will show you the way, He will be your comfort, your redeemer, you will find His mystery no matter how deep is your sorrow, no matter how small or as big as ocean waves your problem is.

Jeremiah 33:3 “Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come.”

Luke 6:47-48 “I will show you what it’s like when someone comes to me, listens to my teaching, and then follows it. It is like a person building a house who digs deep and lays the foundation on solid rock. When the floodwaters rise and break against that house, it stands firm because it is well built.”

When we have Jesus in our life, He is our strength even when the ocean waves of problem rise up. He will keep our eyes to look above the waves of fear. He is always ready to reach out His hand if we call upon His name.

Matthew 14:27

But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.”

God's grace is enough and God's grace abounds even in the deepest problem we have. His sovereign hand will guide us to get through just like the parent always watching his child and ready any time when you call.

2 Corinthians 4:15 “All this is for your benefit, so that the grace of God that reaches you may overflow in your heart that causes to thank the glory of God”.

Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest”.

The Holy Spirit always leads us to completely trust God without limit. If you are in this situation that you think it is impossible, there is nothing impossible with God.

John 14:26 “But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you.”

Matthew 19:26 Jesus said “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.”

If we overcome the doubt and totally surrender to God, let your little faith become stronger in the presence of our Lord.

Psalm 46:10

Be still, and know that I am God

John 14:27 “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.”

What are you at this time? Are you carrying heavy load? Are you trying to figure out and solve your problem? What holding you back? If it is you, why not stand still for a moment, think what God can do for you starting today.

Trust Him, when we encounter difficulties in life, He will walk with us side by side, believe that He is doing something on our behalf, our feet will make stronger in the presence of our Saviour. Let's give glory to our God!
